Starting a career in finance is an exciting journey filled with opportunities, but it can be difficult to know what path to take. As you step into this career, one question may weigh heavily on your mind - "What qualification is right for me?”. When I think of this stage, it always reminds me of the sorting hat from Harry Potter. It would be amazing if you could place it on your head to determine what qualification is the perfect match for you. However, we haven’t got the benefit of using magic so let's go through the main qualifications to help you make the right decision in choosing.
In this article, I want to be able to explain why qualifications are important for your career in finance and explore the various credentials available to finance professionals. The ones I have selected to cover include:

- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
