An Introduction to our FP&A Articles

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) professionals have grown in number, influence and popularity over recent years. The finance departments across Yorkshire and the East Midlands are no exception. Helping FP&A candidates and finding them for employers has accounted for an increasingly larger proportion of our time.

Some of our current analysis of this specialism includes:

  • There are approximately 1,200 FP&A professionals currently employed across Yorkshire and the East Midlands. This compares with 3,100 financial accounting or reporting specialists and the number is increasing annually.
  • Over 450 of these individuals are in senior manager, head or director-level roles.
  • The number of FP&A placements made by our senior and executive finance teams increased by 26% over the past year.
  • Salaries advertised online currently range from £47,500 for NQ level to £150,000 for Director level

We see this as exciting news for the accounting career. More opportunities for finance departments to take a lead role in the digitalisation and automation of processes, meeting shareholder demand for analysis and supporting effective finance business partnering.

We have spoken to some of the successful FP&A professionals in our network to ask them for the benefits of their wisdom and experience. We will present a few of these over the coming weeks.
