International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
As a recruitment company, we strive towards achieving a population of Executive Leaders with a stronger diversity across gender and ethnicity; this is an objective that we share with many organisations and investors. We regularly benchmark our results against the trends we see in the wider market. Having recently released our CFO Annual Report, it highlighted that 16% of existing post holders in Executive Finance Leader positions are female; and female hires at this level in the past year made up of 26%. During 2022, 31.25% of Executive Finance Leader placements made by Pratap Partnership were female candidates. This tracks above both the existing population and the proportion of hires in the year.
It goes without saying that we need to ‘practice what we preach’ and ensure our own internal staff demographic is free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. We are proud to say that out of our 18 staff members, 13 are woman: with 4 being Partners of the business, and 3 with a seat at Board Meetings. We are lucky enough to work alongside men who celebrate and value difference, and they are just as important in this journey to drive gender parity. Together, we celebrate, inspire and energise one another.
Between our staff, we have 13 beautiful daughters. It’s a hard job being a parent; there’s no blueprint for teaching your children to be who and what they want to be, and to settle for no less. It is an exciting and emotional concept to think how they will influence and change the world for the better. We want to help shape this world for the next generation, and in a lot of ways, this is our drive and inspiration for forging women’s equality both now and for the future.
It’s not about making women stronger. They are already strong. It’s about changing the way that the world perceives that strength. For our children, and every woman out there, Pratap Partnership celebrates International Women’s Day and its’ purpose of creating a world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
Our lives have all been influenced at some point by strong women.
